And what an absolute treat it was to share some time with today’s guest – she’s an actress, writer, director, producer of stage and screen, an author and activist and all – she is a recipient of the Order of Canada and the Governor General’s Lifetime Achievement Award in the Performing Arts. the mega award winning and awesome MARY WALSH. A native of St. John’s, Newfoundland with 49 on screen credits including big screen turns in films like THE GRAND SEDUCTION, MAMBO ITALIANO AND CRACKIE to TV roles in everything from Sensitive Skin, Rookie Blue, Republic of Doyle and most recently Little Dog. But there’s no denying her most massive a role on television was on a show she herself created – the iconic THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES – with characters like Connie Bloor, Miss Eulalia and the always outspoken Marg Delahunty. Before 22 minutes there was CODCO and after that another show Walsh created HATCHING MATCHING A DISPATCHING an irreverent series which just last year embraced the holiday season in a side splitting way with a special entitled A CHRISTMAS FURY – Mary co-wrote and starred in the lot of it and just last week Mary Walsh won the award for “Best Performance” at the Fort McMurray International Film Festival. for her uproarious and moving portrayal of the family matriarch Mamie Lou Fury in the holiday hit which is back by popular demand just in time for the festive season on CBC television this Sunday November 25th at
